Magnet Courses

  • What are Magnet Courses? Weber Online MAGNET courses are aligned to the traditional school calendar. Coursework begins on the first day of the quarter and concludes on the final day. Coursework is organized into easy-to-follow week-be-week modules within Weber Online’s learning management system. Assignments have due dates to help keep students on track to successfully finish their courses on time. Students are required to attend 30-minute live virtual classes each week. Live classes are taught by certified, engaging, and highly qualified Weber Online teachers. If students are unable to attend virtual class at the assigned time, they are required to watch class recordings and be in contact with their teacher regarding their progress in the course. Courses granting high school credit require a final project or final proctored exam.
  • What courses are available? A wide variety of MAGNET courses are available. These courses include junior high and high school classes, core classes, elective courses, and concurrent enrollment courses through Weber State University. For a full listing of courses please see our Course Catalog. MAGNET courses are not available during the summer. For summer courses see our FLEX option.
  • How do I enroll? Current Weber School District students should contact their counselor at their physical school or Weber Online counselor Julie Garner (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) with enrollment questions.

FLEX Courses

  • What are FLEX Courses? Weber Online FLEX courses are open-entry classes. Students can enroll in them any day of the calendar year. Once enrolled students have 140 calendar days to complete their course but can complete them as quickly as they would like. These courses are great for students who are self-motivated and want to move faster than the traditional school calendar. Coursework is delivered through the Weber Online learning management system and organized into week-by-week modules that help keep students on track. No live classes are required, but teachers check in with students often to ensure success. A final project or proctored final exam is required for each course granting high school credit.
