Who can enroll in Weber Online K-6?

  • To enroll in Weber Online students must currently be Weber School District students. If you would like to enroll in Weber School District please contact the principal at your local school or contact Weber Online Secretary Tessa LaVigne at 801-476-6543 or telavigne@wsd.net

How can I enroll my student?

When can I enroll?

  • Students can enroll at any time but must commit to staying at least one full quarter with Weber Online. Students who enter after mid-term of a quarter are required to stay through the end of the next quarter. 

How much does Weber Online K-6 cost?

  • Weber Online K-6 is free for all Weber School District students.

Are Weber Online K-6 teachers certified?

  • Yes. Weber Online K-6 teachers are all certified. There is one teacher assigned to each grade. Teachers create all of the digital learning experiences for students and provide live instruction for each student once per week.

Is Weber K-6 all online?

  • The majority of all learning experiences are provided digitally. Students are required to attend one, thirty-minute live session per week. Teachers are also available daily via Google Meet between 11:00 am and 11:45 am to help students with any questions.

Is this just an online program that my child works on each day?

  • No. Weber Online K-6 classes aspire to provide a robust true school experience. Curriculum is created daily by instructors and adjusted based on students’ needs. Several software programs are used to support this instruction, but are not the main teaching method.

Are there any required meeting times?

  • Students must attend one 30 minute live session per week. 

What subjects are taught?

  • Currently, English language arts, math, science, art, and PE are provided. Social studies and a leadership curriculum will be integrated next school year.

Can home school students participate?

  • Home school students must register as Weber School District students to participate, but the curriculum provided by Weber Online K-6 is a great base for parents wanting to be highly involved in their child’s education.

What if my child has a 504?

  • 504 accommodations are followed by Weber Online K-6 teachers. Administrators and a counselor are available to review the 504 for online learning and to update plans as needed.

What if my child participates in Special Ed?

  • Weber Online K-6 students remain enrolled with their local school and complete all coursework within their Weber Online classroom. Special Education services are provided by the Special Education teacher at the local school either virtually or in person. Parents and guardians work with the special education teacher to determine what works best.

What if my child needs counseling services?

  • Weber Online K-6 students remain enrolled with their local school and complete all coursework within their Weber Online classroom. Counseling services are provided by the Special Education teacher at the local school either virtually or in person. Parents and guardians work with the special education teacher to determine what works best.

Attendance Policy

  • Weber Online School is required to collect and record data that substantiates the attendance and academic progress of our students. Students enrolled in the Weber Online School are required to log 180 school days between the first day of school and the last day of school for the Weber School District. Students should plan on spending the equivalent of a full school day, five days a week, actively working on coursework. Students who have not logged into their courses for 10 consecutive days without notifying the principal will be considered truant and may be dropped from Weber Online K-6.
